First Portugal-Angola Summit held in February 2014

The 1st Portugal-Angola Summit is scheduled to be held in the first few days of February 2014, the Portuguese Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Luís Campos Ferreira said Friday in Luanda.

Ferreira was speaking at the end of an audience with Angola’s Foreign Minister, Georges Chikoti, as part of a two-day working visit to Luanda.

The summit, which was announce din February by then Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Portas, will be based on the theme of “Boosting Portugal-Angola Cooperation – Economic Growth and Sustainable Development of Both Countries.”

Campos Ferreira added that sports events and two meetings would be held on the sidelines of the summit, one for businesspeople and another for the deans of universities from both countries.

The Secretary of State added that the two countries were “doing everything for the summit to take place,” in the first few days of February of next year. (macauhub)
