Solar panel factory in Mozambique will lower prices on the market

The future solar panel factory in Maputo, Mozambique will drive down the price of solar panels on the market, said Mozambique’s Energy Minister, Salvador Namburete.

During an annual joint meeting with cooperation partners, the Minister also noted growth of the sales and distribution network for oil products, as well as increased storage capacity at ports following refurbishments of their facilities.

“The advances made in the Geographical Incentive Programme make it possible to increase the network of fuel stations, which currently has a total of 340,” said Namburete according to Mozambican daily newspaper, Notícias.

The progress made in the execution of the government’s Five-Year Programme, as well as the activities outlined in the Economic and Social Plan for 2013, according to Namburete, made it possible for 112 of a total 128 districts to be linked to the national power grid.

“The government plans for an increasingly greater percentage of the Mozambican population to have access to safe and reliable energy,” he said. (macauhub)
