Angola’s banking system has total US$40.224 billions in deposits

Deposits in the Angolan banking system totalled 3.9 trillion kwanzas (US$40.224 billion) on 30 September, the governor of the Angolan National Bank (BNA), José de Lima Massano said Thursday in Luanda.

The governor of the central bank, who was speaking at a forum on World Savings Day, celebrated Thursday across the world, said that that amount was an increase of 12.74 percent against September 2012.

According to Angolan news agency Angop, the governor also said that savings accounts in September held the equivalent of 13.21 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). (macauhub)
