Cabo Verde’s new investment law to be translated into English, French and Spanish

7 November 2013

The Investment Law of Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) will be translated into the English, French and Spanish languages, according to the respective articles, which stipulate that it must be divulged within six months, the island country’s press reported.

The Investment Law recently published in the official bulletin replaces the previous Investment Code. The changes are retroactive to 1 January 2013.

The aim of the changes was to “simplify the process of registering external investment” in the Bank of Cape Verde, and also to promote “the emergence of a legal framework for investment in Cape Verde based on speed along with reduced paperwork and bureaucracy.”

Among other changes introduced in the new law, the registration of external investment will be done electronically via Cabo Verde Investimentos. (macauhub)
