Guinea-Bissau announces 17 million euro donation from China

18 November 2013

Guinea-Bissau should receive a 17 million euro donation from China under the scope of an economic and technical cooperation agreement signed by the two countries, Bissau’s transition government announced.

The understanding between the two countries was signed during the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, held last 5-6 November in Macau.

A Guinea-Bissau government source told Lusa news agency that work was now under way to determine areas where the money will be applied, so that dates can then be set to unblock the funds. (macauhub)
