10 December 2013

Chinese company CITIC Construction, a subsidiary of the CITIC group, has won a quality prize for its Kilamba Kaiaxi Urban Project (Luanda), which will house over 200,000 people, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

According to a statement cited by the agency, CITIC Construction won the Luban prize awarded by the China Civil Construction Association, which recognises the best construction projects carried out by Chinese companies.

Kilamba Kiaxi, the largest post-independence real estate project in Angola, was praised by the association, which noted the quality of its construction.

The Chinese company is working in Angola on the programme to build around 100,000 new houses in ten provinces.

The project, which was launched five years ago, has allowed the Angolan government to work towards its commitment to eliminate the country’s housing benefit. (macauhub)
