Mission from Austria visits Angola to consider two-way cooperation

9 January 2014

Angola’s ambassador to Austria, Maria de Jesus Ferreira told Angolan radio station Radio Nacional de Angola (RNA) that a delegation from the Austrian chamber of commerce is due to visit Angola this year to study ways of cooperating.

According to the Angolan diplomat the main areas for cooperation include training Angolan staff for the tourism industry, geology and mining, electricity and environmental management.

“Cooperation with Austria needs to be encouraged. We don’t have many Austrian companies investing in Angola. Austrian companies have to look at our economy in another way,” she said.

The ambassador said that some meetings had already taken place with the governors of some Angolan provinces, particularly in terms of the tourism industry, and all of them are open to taking advantage of staff training in the geology and mining, energy and environmental management sectors,” Ferreira told RNA.
