Angola’s Sonangol launches tenders for onshore oil exploration

Angolan oil company Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola (Sonangol) plans to launch tenders to grant licenses for onshore oil wells in the basins of the Kwanza and Congo rivers, the company said in a statement issued Luanda.

According to the statement all national and international oil companies as well as other interested companies can compete for three blocks in the Congo basin and eight blocks in the Kwanza basin.

Sonangol also said it would make technical presentations to interested parties in London on 3 February and later that month in Houston, Texas. Interested parties are required to register by 28 January for the presentation in London and by 4 February for the Houston presentation.

Sonangol is the concession-holder of oil and gas prospecting, surveying, development and production rights across the whole of Angola. (macauhub)
