Construction of the unit, which was awarded to Italian company Danieli (, began in September 2012 and is due to be concluded by the end of this year.

The project, which also includes construction of a scrap buying centre, involves building furnaces as well as workshops and warehouses. In its initial phase it will have capacity to produce 500,000 tons of steel for the construction sector.

ADA – Aceria de Angola, SA (formerly Siderango) is the result of a project approved by the National Private Investment Agency (ANIP) in 2011.

The group, which has plans to double the steelwork’s installed capacity, is currently the main domestic and regional supplier of long steel joists for the construction industry, via its subsidiary ASC. (macauhub)
