20 February 2014

The prime minister of Cabo Verde said Wednesday he planned to visit Angola before March to boost economic and business relations between the two countries. He is also considering similar visits to Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe.

Jose Maria Neves also said that Finance Minister, Cristina Duarte, who ended a three-day visit to Luanda, was laying the ground for the Prime Minister’s visit, which is confirmed but dates have yet to be set.

The Prime Minister also noted that on Monday he had signed an agreement with Angola for a credit line of 10 million euros.

“It is a credit line to develop some facilities that are already underway and that are important for the competitiveness of our economy, such as work to finish the ports and the technology park,” he said.

Neves also said that he would soon visit Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe leading a delegation of Cape Verdean businesspeople seeking “new opportunities” to boost economic and business relations. (macauhub)
