The 3rd edition of Tektónica Moçambique, Maputo, Mozambique, a construction fair that brings together over 70 companies from Mozambique, Portugal, Italy and Turkey, is due to end Saturday after its inauguration Wednesday, according to the Mozambican press.
The event gathers construction, public works, real estate, architecture and other companies and its organisers consider Tektónica to be an important event to increase relationships between businesspeople from the different countries involved.
“We are here to promote new solutions in Mozambique that allow local projects to have better quality and for more cohesion between Mozambican and Portuguese companies,” said Jorge Oliveira, the fairs director of the Portuguese Industrial Association (Associação Industrial Portuguesa – AIP), the event’s organiser.
Oliveira, who noted participation by Italian and Turkish companies, also said that there was an increasing number of Mozambican companies taking part in the event, and that of the 70 companies taking part this year, 22 are local.
However, although the organisers measure the “success” of this edition by the increased participation of Mozambican companies, the opportunity to gain access to or expand within the local market is the event’s biggest attraction for Portuguese companies, said the AIP fairs director. (macauhub)
