The National Bank of Angola decided to keep its basic interest rate, known as the BNA Rate, unchanged at 9.25 percent on 25 November, according to a statement issued Friday in Luanda.
In the statement the decisions of the monthly meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee, the central bank said that it kept the rate on its permanent loan liquidity facility at 10.25 percent and increased the rate on its permanent absorption facility by 0.5 percentage points to 1.25 percent.
The bank also said that the Luibor overnight rate in January stood at 4.15 percent, whilst the three and 12-month rates stood at 7.49 percent and 9.42 percent, respectively.
The committee also said that the rate of inflation in January was 7.84 percent, or 0.15 percentage points more than in January 2013. (macauhub)
