Japan funds construction of fishing port in Sao Tome and Principe

Japan plans to fund the construction of a fishing port in Sao Tome and Principe and to equip it with several fishing vessels, a government spokesman said in Sao Tome.

In a statement, spokesman and Minister for Education, Culture and Training, Jorge Bom Jesus, said the Japanese investment was “a great project in the fishing sector,” that would “begin in the first few months of 2015.”

Minister Jorge Bom Jesus also said that this development project would cost an estimated US$10 million. (macauhub)
