A business fair and contact event organised by the Beira Business Association (ACB), in partnership with the Portuguese Business Association in the Santarém Region is due to begin Tuesday in Beira, the capital of Mozambique’s Sofala province.
The fair is intended to promote contacts between businesspeople from both countries and is scheduled to end with the signing of a number of partnerships, said the chairman of ACB, Prakash Prehlad.
According to the fair’s organisers 10 Portuguese businesspeople from a variety of sectors will attend, notably the furniture industry, the metal-mechanics and construction sector. Businesspeople from the host city and the provinces of Tete, Zambézia and Manica will represent Mozambique at the fair.
The chairman of ACB noted that the fair was “of great importance, given that Beira has not hosted an event like this for 20 years.” The event will be held over three days.
Prakash Prehlad noted that the partnership between ACB and the Portuguese Business Associations in the Santarém Region has been in place for six years and added that this fair was an opportunity for those who take part to demonstrate the potential of their respective companies. (macauhub)
