Eight hotel units with 50 rooms each are due to be built in eight different locations of Angola’s Uíge province, according to a decision by the Provincial Consultation and Social Dialogue Council.
The provincial director for Hotels and Tourism, Abraão da Silva, told Angolan news agency Angop that a lack of rooms available to visitors had led to the decision to increase the number of hotels in the province.
There are currently registered 11 hotels in Uíge province in the cities of Uíge itself, Negage, Sanza Pombo and Maquela do Zombo, but just five of these are open to guests and the others are in a poor state of repair.
Abraão da Silva also said that the eight new hotel units would be ready by 2017. (macauhub)
