Angola and Namibia will be linked by a floating bridge over the Kubango River, the governors of the Angolan province of Kuando Kubango and the Namibian province of Roundo said last weekend.
The two governors, Angola’s Francisco Higino Lopes Carneiro and Samuel Caveto of Namibia, met in the Calai municipality on the border with Namibia, and discussed details for execution of the project.
Cited by Angolan news agency Angop, Higino Carneiro said that, once the bridge was built, goods and people could more easily travel between the two countries and added that the floating bridge would be between 250 and 300 metres long.
The governor added that the two countries would now draw up a document that included the essential details for future construction of the bridge linking the two banks of the Kubango River. (macauhub)
