A delegation from the Sofala provincial government in Mozambique is visiting the Chinese province of Anhui at the invitation of local authorities in the scope of the memorandum of understanding signed in 2013, reports the Maputo-based daily Notícias.
Among other aspects, the agreement envisages closer cooperation relations in various areas between the two provinces’ governments, with periodical interchanges of delegations and the possibility of training Mozambican personnel.
The visit will last until this coming 30 March. Among other institutions, the delegation headed by provincial governor Félix Paulo will contact the administration of the Anhui Foreign Economic Construction Corp (AFECC) group, which manages the Mungassa Special Economic Zone in the city of Beira.
“We will present to the Anhui authorities our project portfolio, which is an integral part of the Sofala Strategic Development Plan,” said José Ferreira, provincial director of Industry and Commerce and a member of the delegation.
Anhui province is located in eastern China. It has an area of 139,000 square kilometres and a population of 60 million. (macauhub)
