The National Bank of Angola kept the base interest rate – the BNA rate – unchanged for the fourth consecutive month at 9.25 percent, the Angolan central bank said Monday.
Although it kept the BNA rate unchanged the bank’s Monetary Policy Committee decided to reduce the permanent liquidity rate by 0.25 percent points to 10 percent and the absorption rate to 1.25 percent.
The BNA’s statement, which summarises the monthly monetary policy and economic activity for February, also noted that the Luibor overnight rate stood at 3.57 percent whilst the three- and 12-month rates stood at 7.45 percent and 9.44 percent, respectively.
In the statement the central bank also said that the Consumer Price Index rose by 0.49 percent in February, but gave no figures for year on year inflation. (macauhub)
