The governor of the Angolan province of Huíla said in Turin, Italy that the Trade, Tourism and Hotel sectors are privileged areas for setting up partnerships with Italian businesspeople.

“Although there are partnerships in agri-industry, agri-livestock and mining, the areas of trade, tourism and hotels should warrant special attention,” said Marcelino Tyipinge, at the Italy and Angola Business Forum held in Turin.

Angola’s Economy Minister, Abraão Gourgel, who was present at the meeting, said that promoting partnerships between Angolans and Italians would speed up the process of diversifying Angola’s economy and create a string business culture.

The minister noted that the Angolan government’s policies focused on promoting direct foreign investment through joint ventures with local companies, as well as creating new production units with competitive tax incentives for investments.

The Italy-Angola Business Forum promoted by the Angolan Economy Ministry was attended by over 400 businesspeople from both countries as well as government officials.

The meeting was intended to increase Italian investment in Angola and encourage cooperation between businesspeople from both countries.(macauhub/AO)
