The assets of Angolan bank Banco BIC Angola last year totalled US$7.6 billion, rising by 11 percent against 2012, the chairmen of the board, Fernando Teles said in Luanda.
Teles said that in 2013 the bank’s equity totalled US$889 million, which was a rise of around 17 percent against the previous year.
BIC’s chairman said that the bank’s net profit in 2013 was US$201 million.
Teles also said that turnover totalled US$12.2 billion, rising 12 percent against 2012. Customer deposits rose by 9 percent, from US$5.7 billion in 2012 to US$ 6.2 billion in 2013.
The chairman of Angola’s second-largest bank by number of branches (209) said that credit to the economy had risen from US$5.1 billion in 2012 to US$5.9 billion on 31 December 2013. (macauhub/AO)
