Macau’s casinos post gross revenues of US$20.733 billion from January to May

Gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau totalled 165.871 billion patacas (US$20.733 billion) in the first five months of 2014 (January to May), or a rise of 15.8 percent year on year, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said.

In May casino gaming revenues totalled 32.354 billion patacas (US$4.044 billion), which was a rise of 9.3 percent against May 2013, but was the lowest rate of growth for the year following 7 percent growth in January.

At the end of the first quarter of 2014 there were 35 casinos in Macau run by six concession-holders, of which 20 were operated by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, four by Venetian Macau, three by Melco Crown Jogos (Macau), one by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which in total had 5,746 gambling tables and 15,310 slot machines.
