Angola’s National Private Investment Agency (ANIP) and Cabo Verde Investimentos are due to sign a cooperation agreement the Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) Foreign Relations Minister, Jorge Alberto Lopes Borges said in Luanda Wednesday.
The agreement, which focuses on relations between agents and private businesspeople form both countries, will be signed during a visit by Cape Verdean Prime Minister José Maia Neves to Angola, according to Angolan daily state newspaper, Jornal de Angola.
Borges added that another agreement would be signed by private companies from the two nations for the aquaculture sector and that the project would be located in the Ambriz municipality of Angola’s Bengo province.
Meanwhile, a business mission that was planned to accompany the Cape Verdean Prime Minister on his visit has been delayed until July, in order to coincide with the week of the Luanda International Fair.
According to the Cape Verdean Leeward Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services the delegation will visit Angola from 22 to 17 July.
According to Jornal de Angola, this decision was made because the Angolan authorities wanted to restrict this State visit to political and diplomatic issues setting aside economic and business relations.
In February of this year, during a visit by the Cape Verdean Minister for Finance and Planning, Cristina Duarte, 42 agreements for business loans worth a total of 1.4 billion kwanzas (US$14.3 million) were signed. (macauhub/AO/CV)
