The “Preciosa” water bottling factory in the Angolan city of Lubango, capital of Huíla province, has plans to set up a second filling line in 2015, said the factory’s director, Valdemar Ribeiro Friday.
The unit, which opened in March of this year, started operating in June and its markets are the provinces of Huíla, Namibe, Cunene, Benguela and Luanda.
Ribeiro told Angolan news agency Angop that the factory is currently producing 750,000 half-litre bottle of water per month and that the second filling line would double production to 1.5 million bottles per month.
The factory was built and equipped making sue of a US$10 million loans provided by the Angola Development Bank (BDA) and a further US$500,000 loan from Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI).
The factory also as a laboratory, warehouses, administrative areas and taps the water it bottles from the Humpata aquifer. (macauhub/AO)
