Brazilian trade with Portugal totals over US$1 billion in first half

Trade between Brazil and Portugal exceeded US$1 billion (US$1.044 billion) in the first half of this year according to figures from the Brazilian Ministry for Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC).

Between January and June Brazil exported goods to Portugal worth US$471.5 million, or 46.4 percent more than in the same period of last year.

In the same period Brazil imported goods from Portugal worth almost US$573 million, or 23 percent more than in the same period of 2013, according to the MDIC figures.

In the first half of the year the Portugal-Brazil balance of trade posted a surplus for Portugal of US$101 million.(macauhub/BR/PT)
