Cabo Verde National Stadium built with support from China due to be inaugurated soon

The Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) National Stadium, in Monte Vaca on the outskirts of São Filipe, in the city of Praia, built using funding from China is due to be inaugurated soon, according to Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress.

With a capacity of 15,000 people, of which 5,000 can be accommodated under cover, the National Stadium cost US$50 million and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister José Maria Neves. The Stadium has artificial lighting and 80 cameras able to film events from 300 to 500 metres away.

The National Stadium, construction of which began in 2007, covers an area of around 11,530 square metre and has FIFA-approved artificial turf and an athletics track. (macauhub/CV)
