Fiftieth Maputo International Fair, in Mozambique, receives over 84,000 visitors

The 50th edition of the Maputo International Fair (Facim) received 84,600 visitors, the Mozambican Institute for Export Promotion (Ipex), the event’s organiser, said Tuesday in Maputo.

According to Ipex, the event brought together 3,145 companies, 1,975 of which took part on an individual basis. The 520 Mozambican companies at the event were housed in areas focused on promoting the country’s provinces and 650 companies in marquees reserved for participating countries, 26 in total.

During the seven days of the event, which ended on Sunday, 31 August, 1,502 contact meetings were held, the organisers said, estimating that 15 agreements were signed.

The 50th edition of Facim was also marked by hosting the 10th Entrepreneurs Meeting for Commercial and Economic Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries, attended by 460 participants and responsible for 556 contact meetings, Ipex said, cited by Portuguese news agency Lusa.
