3 September 2014

Five Portuguese companies are taking part in China Furniture 2014, one of the busiest international fairs in the wood and furniture industries, taking place in Shanghai from 10 to 14 September, the Portuguese press reported.

The event, which in last year’s edition attracted more than 85,000 professionals from 144 countries and regions, comes at a good time for Portuguese furniture exports to China.

In the first half of 2014, Portugal exported about US$8.6 million of furniture to China, 10.5 percent more than in the same period of last year, according to figures from the Chinese customs service.

The five Portuguese companies represented at Furniture China 2014 are Serip – Mário J. Pires, Fertini House, Cicodoor – Cicomool, Homara – TGV Interiores and MibilBanho.

Shanghai, which is the capital of a municipal area with a population of over 23 million, is considered to be China’s financial capital. (macauhub/CN/PT)
