The Angolan National Agency for Private Investment (ANIP) Friday signed six more private investment contracts with entrepreneurs of various nationalities, including a Portuguese group, totalling US$37.5 million.
The president of ANIP, Maria Luísa Abrantes, said at the end of the session that the investments involve the industrial, construction, trade, and hotels and restaurants sectors, and will be made from Luanda to Kwando Kubango in southern Angola.
The contracts have a combined value of US$37.5 million, were signed with companies from Angola, China, Spain, Portugal and Singapore.
The contracts included one with Portuguese footwear group Seaside, which together with an Angolan partner, is making an investment of US$1 million to start operating in Angola.
The project is initially focused on footwear distribution and marketing, but managing director, Paul Condesso said, on the sidelines of the signing of the investment agreement, in Luanda, it was possible the group would set up a factory in Angola.
ANIP is the state body responsible for promoting, coordinating and implementing the national private investment policy in Angola. (macauhub/AO/PT/CN)
