Brazil puts new oil blocks up for auction

18 September 2014

The 13th auction of blocks for oil and natural gas exploration in Brazil is scheduled to take place in the first half of 2015, the Brazilian Secretary of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Mines and Energy said Tuesday in Brasilia.

Marco Antonio Martins Almeida also announced that the auction would include onshore and offshore blocks but said there was no date set for the location of the exploration sites to be named.

In his turn, the director-general of the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Magda Chambriard, said the agency had already submitted studies to the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the National Energy Policy Council. (macauhub/BR)
