Macau received over 23.5 million visitors from January to September, or an increase of 7 percent year on year, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said.
The number of visitors from Mainland China (15.8 million), South Korea (420,400) and Japan (228,000) rose in annual terms, while visitors from Hong Kong (4.8 million) and Taiwan (726.9000) decreased in annual terms.
In September 2.4 million visitors entered Macau, an annual increase of 3 percent, according to the Bureau.
By place of residence, 1.6 million visitors entered Macau in September from mainland China (+6 percent compared to September 2013), who came mainly from the provinces of Guangdong (641,500) and Fujian (75,000).
The number of visitors from South Korea (46,800) and Japan (27,300) increased 24 percent and 7 percent, respectively, and visitors from Hong Kong (509,200) and Taiwan (79,900) decreased by 3 percent and 13 percent, respectively, in annual terms. (macauhub/MO)
