30 October 2014

The 5th edition of the Angola International Mining Fair (FIMA) starts Thursday at the Luanda International Fair (Filda) venue, under the motto “Planageo, Prospecting, Mining Diversification and Development.”

The exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of Geology and Mines in partnership with the Luanda International Fair and Planageo is the acronym of the National Plan for Geology, which aims to map all of Angola’s natural resources.

The event aims to promote investment, with the re-launch of diamond production and the mining sector in Angola, as well as sharing knowledge and creating a platform for dialogue on an international level, involving industry associations and active economic agents.

Other than Angola, the event will be attended by representatives from Argentina, Portugal, Egypt, the Netherlands, Germany, Namibia, South Africa, Russia, France and Canada. (macauhub/AO)
