The China International Fund (CIF) has been chosen by the government of Angola to build three residential buildings in the city of Luanda for over US$91.4 million, according to a presidential order.
The three buildings will be built in the Sambizanga neighbourhood on the outskirts of the capital, and are intended to “resettle the local population” on the outskirts of the city centre.
In addition to awarding the work to the China International Fund, the same order adds an amount of US$4.4 million for supervision of work to be completed by the company Creative Innovation.
The flagship project of the China International Fund Limited in Angola is the new international airport in Luanda, considered the largest public works project in the country.
Valued at over US$3.5 billion, the work began in 2004, about 40 kilometres from Luanda, and is scheduled for completion in 2017. (macauhub/AO/CN)
