Construction and agriculture attract Chinese and Portuguese investors to Kwando Kubango, Angola

31 October 2014

The construction and agriculture sectors are the most attractive to Chinese and Portuguese investors in the Angolan province of Kwando Kubango, the president of the National Private Investment Agency (ANIP) said Thursday in Luanda.

Maria Luísa Abrantes, who was speaking on the sidelines of the 3rd Forum of Economic Development of Kwando Kubango, said that recently there had been increased interest in signing contracts for investment in the province of Kwando Kubango, mainly in construction and agriculture.

Cited by Angolan news agency Angop, Abrantes said the number of investment contracts for the province still did not match with the number of business opportunities in the region, hence the need to attract more investors for various economic sectors.

Abrantes also gave assurances that the Okavango-Zambezi Crossborder Project – linked to tourism – would attract more infrastructure projects to the province and at the same time contribute to increasing investments in the province of Kwando Kubango. (macauhub/AO/CN/PT)
