The new General Tax Administration of Angola will coordinate and manage the entire process of tax collection, in the country according to a decision Wednesday by the government announced after a Council of Ministers meeting.
The new tax body is part of Angola’s on-going tax reform and will bring together existing bodies and services of the National Tax Directorate, the National Customs Service and the Executive Project for Tax Reform.
The statement said that the new tax administration should be operational in 2015.
In September, the finance minister, Armando Manuel, announced the creation of the future General Tax Administration and said that it “aims to increase efficiency in the tax collection process, minimising the cost of functions that are now duplicated and streamline processes so that we can increase revenues. ” (macauhub/AO)
