Macau achieved a new record when over 515,000 people entered or left the territory last Saturday, 15 November, the director of the Macau Tourist Office said Tuesday.
Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said that on Saturday, the first day of this year’s Macau Grand Prix, the number of people entering or leaving the territory surpassed the previous record registered on 17 August, 500,700 people.
The director of the Tourist Office said that gambling in Macau is usually regarded as the main attraction and added, “you can see that Macau can attract people other than gamblers.”
Macau is a territory made up of a peninsula and two islands connected by reclaimed land, and has an area of 30.3 square kilometres and a population of 631,000 people. (macauhub/MO)
