Portuguese group expands power grid in Benguela, Angola

15 December 2014

Portuguese group CME will carry out work to expand the electricity grid in Angola’s Benguela province under a contract worth US$32.9 million approved by order of the President of Angola.

This agreement, to be signed with the consortium made up of CME and CME Angola (Angola subsidiary), involves the first phase of repair and expansion of the electricity grid of that Angolan coastal province.

The contract will be awarded by the Ministry of Energy and Water and the execution of the work aims to “ensure a better quality of power distribution in the province, thus contributing to its economic and industrial development,” the order said. (macauhub/AO)
