Angola Stock Exchange inaugurated in Luanda

The Angolan Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA) was inaugurated on 19 December in Luanda, with the launch of the Wholesale Treasury Market and Treasury Securities Registration Market.

According to Angolan news agency Angop these two segments of the Special Public Debt Market launch the first development phase of the Angolan Securities Market.

Finance Minister Armando Manuel in his opening speech at Bodiva noted the importance of government bonds issued to finance the long-term Public Investment Programme and to stimulate the secondary market to accelerate economic growth.

The minister also said he hoped Bodiva would evolve rapidly to bonds and shares issued by public and private companies.

Bodiva has capital of 900 million kwanza subscribed by the State and the Angolan Securities Depository. (macauhub/AO)
