Mozambique increasingly sought by US tourists

2 January 2015

Mozambique is gaining popularity among Americans, according to Joss Kent, chief executive of &Beyond, a company that organises custom safaris and tours in Africa and southern Asia.

Speaking to “Travel Weekly”, Kent said Mozambique was “the perfect place for a safari” or for a calm cultural or beach holiday.

Kent pointed out that Mozambique had lost its attraction as a tourist destination due to the civil war in recent decades, but said “now it is emerging as one of the top destinations in Africa.”

The chief executive of & Beyond noted that Mozambique offered “rich African-Portuguese culture” and can show an Africa that is different from busier placed like Cape Town or Johannesburg, both in South Africa. (macauhub/MZ)
