Portuguese company manufactures and assembles river boat docks in Angola

28 January 2015

In December Lindley concluded the first phase of the supply and installation work of river piers along the Kubango River in Angola, the company said in a statement sent to Macauhub.

The Kubango River, which marks the border between Angola and Namibia, springs in the Angolan highlands and flows southeast into the Okavango Delta (Botswana), the largest inland delta in the world.

The contract included the design, manufacture and assembly of various river piers for docking passenger vessels.

Completion of the first phase of the work, will lead to the start of the second phase of the contract involving installation of floating docks, which have already been made, which are able to provide other municipalities with similar facilities to serve the local population and meet the demanding natural conditions of the region.

Lindley, based in Cascais, Portugal, specialises in the manufacture, supply, installation and maintenance of port equipment, notably floating equipment for marinas and navigational aids. (macauhub/AO/PT)
