Cabo Verde’s (Cape Verde’s) flagship air carrier TACV, will start flying to Bissau, Providence (Rhode Island / USA) and Recife (Brazil) and increase links with Portugal from 1 June, announced the company’s president, João Pereira Silva.
Pereira Silva also said that, starting in Praia, the company will offer European destinations – Lisbon, Madrid, Milan and Paris – and to Fortaleza and Recife, in Brazil, and that links with West Africa would be extended with the re-launch of flights to the capital of Guinea-Bissau, along with existing ones to Dakar, Senegal.
The president of TACV said the company was building the “Cabo Verde hub”, “whilst maintaining our goal to play a central role in the aviation sector in our sub-region.”
“The international expansion facilitates business and tourism and allows the national diaspora to visit the archipelago more often,” said João Pereira Silva, cited by weekly Cape Verdean newspaper A Semana. (macauhub/CV/GW)
