Construction of the Negage Industrial Hub in Angola to cost US$131 million

The money needed to build the Negage Industrial Development Hub totals US$131 million, Angola’s Secretary of State for Industry said in the city of Negage.

Kiala Gabriel, who took part in the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for three factories, one to produce plastic materials, said that with that investment and 48 hectares of land there are plans to implement 16 investment projects.

The immediate works focus on the abstraction of water, power generation and construction of public infrastructure to provide the companies that decided to set up factories that pole industrial development.

However, the Director of Industry and Geology for the central Huambo province, Augusto Damian Philip, said there were 100 projects under analysis for the installation of different plants in the Caála District Industrial Hub.

During the opening ceremony of the hub’s offices, created to provide technical advice and other services to potential investors, Damião Philip said the hub covered an area of ​​1,087 hectares, of which 600 are available for distribution in the first phase.

The centre’s infrastructure began with construction of electricity and drinking water systems, and it will also have a solid waste plant, among other services to support the development of industrial activity. (macauhub/AO)
