Chinese-owned Mozambican company “Matchedje Motor” has introduced a new line of minibuses for use as semi-public passenger transport, the Mozambican press reported.
Sandra Song, Director General of Matchedje Motor, said the first minibus, capable of carrying up to 50 people (20 seated and 30 standing), should be completed within days, after which it will be tested.
The managing director said that the company expects production of 30 minibuses per month and gave assurances that all the materials used in the manufacture of vehicles are Mozambican.
The chairman of Matchedje Motor, Venâncio Massingue said that his company had looked into the conditions of the road network and the basic conditions of passenger transport in Mozambique before moving ahead to manufacture minibuses. (macauhub/MZ)
