IMF mission analyses Cabo Verde economy

A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is in Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) on official business, will meet Monday, with the specialised Finance and Budget Committee of the Cape Verdean parliament, according to the parliamentary website.

The purpose of this meeting is to assess the impact on Cabo Verde of the current global economic situation, especially the measures needed to sustain the country’s growth.

Tax reform, the basic budgetary law, economic and fiscal policies as well as the state’s role in the economy and priorities for economic legislation are other issues listed in the agenda.

Before this meeting, the IMF mission was in Boa Vista, where it met with the Tourism Development Corporation of Boa Vista and Maio (SDTIBM), to learn about what is happening in the tourism sector and the prospects for the next few years. (macauhub/CV)
