Timor-Leste takes on presidency of the Business Confederation of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries

Timor-Leste (East Timor) Saturday in Dili took on the presidency of the Business Confederation of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CE-CPLP), in a ceremony presided over by Timorese Prime Minister Rui Maria Araujo.

Jorge Serrano, president of the GMN-H group and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Timor-Leste (ANJET), took over as honorary president of the Association, according to Portuguese news agency Lusa.

Mozambican national Salimo Abdula became president of the board, with Angola’s José Severino taking the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

In addition to Timor-Leste taking on the presidency of the CE-CPLP and the investiture of the governing meetings are underway to share business opportunities in the country and promote the main Timorese projects.

The schedule of events includes a presentation of the CPLP Exporters Union, a presentation on the opportunities for the Timorese private sector and another on the Special Social Market Economy Zone (ZEESM) of the Timorese enclave of Oe-Cusse Ambeno. (macauhub/TL)
