Luxembourg signs cooperation programme with Cabo Verde

The IV Indicative Cooperation Programme (PIC) between Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) and Luxembourg (2016/20), scheduled to be signed on Thursday will have funding of 45 million euros, said the charge d’affaires of the Luxembourg Embassy in Cabo Verde (Cape Verde).

Marc Bourcy told Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress that the funding agreement will be formalised during the official visit by Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg to the archipelago from Tuesday to Thursday.

The charge d’affaires gave assurances that Luxembourg would continue to support Cabo Verde and that this new agreement to be signed in Ribeira Grande on the island of Santo Antão, which was the first town to benefits from aid from Luxembourg, will cover the areas of education, water and sanitation, health, renewable energy and the maritime economy.

PIC IV will be signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cabo Verde, Jorge Tolentino, and the Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action of Luxembourg, Romain Schneider. (macauhub/CV)
