Angola’s ANIP signs investment contracts worth almost US$3 billion

13 March 2015

The Angolan National Agency for Private Investment (ANIP) Thursday in Luanda signed seven investment contracts worth US$2.982 billion, the most valuable of which was with Angolan telecommunications company Unitel, local news agency Angop reported.

The seven contracts are linked to the construction, telecommunications, trade, mining and salt processing sectors.

The president of ANIP, Maria Luisa Abrantes said the projects would be implemented in the provinces of Luanda and Benguela, whilst Unitel’s project will extend the fibre optic network throughout the country.

Abrantes said that the installation of a fibre optic network will allow the fixed line signal to reach further and to be used in particular by students and researchers. (macauhub/AO)
