The international conference on Guinea-Bissau held on Wednesday in Brussels, was able to secure aid of over 1 billion euros pledged by the international community for the African country’s strategic development plan over the next five years.
At the conference, co-organised by the Government of Guinea-Bissau, the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme, attended by delegations from 70 countries and institutions, with the European Union pledging funding of160 million euros to Guinea-Bissau,
Portugal announced at the conference that by June it intends to sign a new strategic cooperation programme with Guinea-Bissau amounting to approximately 40 million euros. (macauhub/GW)
