More than 200 Angolan and foreign companies are showcasing their products until this Sunday at the fifth Benguela International Fair (FIB), where the Wednesday opening ceremony was overseen by provincial governor Isaac dos Anjos, Angop news agency reports.
The companies in question operate in the areas of food-service, hotels, farm products, construction materials, automobile concessions and telecommunications. The foreign companies are from Portugal and the Angolan ones from Benguela, Huíla, Huambo and Cuanza Sul provinces.
The FIB is the biggest multi-sector fair held in Benguela by Eventos Arena. Its main goal is to promote and strengthen the economic and industrial potential of southern Angola, besides attracting national and international investment able to support the region’s development.
In 2014 FIB involved 272 companies as exhibitors, partners or sponsors, counting 43,000 visitors during the five-day event.
Meanwhile, in Luanda the fourth International Information and Communication Technologies Exhibition (Expo ICTs 2015) begins today Thursday at the international fair venue (Filda) in Luanda, with representatives of 60 companies from Angola, South Africa, China, Switzerland and Portugal.
The fair is being held in two pavilions with a total area of 8,000 square metres. It is organised by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and the Luanda International Fair (FIL). (Macauhub/AO/CN/PT)
