The president of the Chinese Association for Promotion of South-South Cooperation, Iyu Xinhua, Friday in Maputo expressed the interest of Chinese businesspeople in investing in Mozambique in the oil, agriculture, health and infrastructure sectors.
At the end of an audience granted by the Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosario, Iyu Xinhua, who is leading a mission of 30 businesspeople to Mozambique, said the business climate in the country “is favourable” and noted he had discussed setting priorities for cooperation with the Mozambican Prime Minister.
“The main objective of this mission is to investigate business opportunities in Mozambique,” said Xinhua, stressing that there would also be a meeting with the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique, according to Portuguese news agency Lusa.
The Chinese business presence in Mozambique has been growing in recent years and investors have focused on the country in areas such as construction, trade, agriculture and mining. (macauhub/CN/MZ)
