Aluworld, a company that last February started operating in Guinea-Bissau, plans to expand “as soon as possible” to other countries in West Africa, the resident representative in the country said Tuesday in Bissau.
Demba Jau said a delegation from Alpar, an Italian company that is a subsidiary of Aluworld, would arrive soon in Guinea-Bissau. The delegation will include the president of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce, which is a local partner, to assist in the effective implementation of the company in Guinea-Bissau and its expansion in the region.
Aluworld is still in the installation phase in Guinea-Bissau and is waiting for the Guinean authorities to apportion a plot of land for the construction of its factory.
For now, requests from Guinean customers are ordered from an existing plant in Gambia or from the headquarters of Alpar, in Italy.
The company’s activities are focused on manufacturing doors and windows in aluminium and armoured glass for the construction industry. (macauhub/GW)
